The Community Nest was created from a simple but powerful belief: every child and every family deserves a place where they feel supported, understood, and welcomed—just as they are.

Based in Peterborough, Ontario, The Community Nest was founded by a local mom, social worker and behaviour professional who saw firsthand how difficult it can be for families to find programs that truly meet their child’s needs—without having to choose between recreation, therapy, and genuine connection.

At The Community Nest, we bring those worlds together. We offer inclusive recreational and therapeutic programming for children with and without disabilities, alongside meaningful support for parents and caregivers. Our programs are designed to nurture skills, confidence, and joy—while our family supports focus on guidance, understanding, and empowerment.
