About Me
Ashley Williams is a Registered Social Worker, Registered Behaviour Analyst (Ontario), and parent based in Peterborough, Ontario. While Ashley has spent years supporting children and families professionally, her most profound learning began at home.
When her son was diagnosed with autism in 2019, Ashley experienced first hand the emotional, practical, and systemic challenges that so many families face—long waitlists, fragmented services, limited inclusive options, and the constant feeling of having to advocate just to be understood. She also saw how isolating the journey could feel, even with professional knowledge and training.
That experience changed everything.
It inspired Ashley to create The Community Nest—a space built not only on evidence-based practice, but on empathy, flexibility, and real understanding. A place where children with and without disabilities can grow together, where skills are nurtured through play and connection, and where parents are supported rather than left to navigate alone.
Ashley brings both professional expertise and lived experience into everything she does, believing that the strongest supports come from listening, compassion, and meeting families where they are. At the heart of her work is a simple goal: to create a community where families feel safe, supported, and truly welcomed.
