Meet Ashley
Hi, I’m Ashley, founder of The Community Nest!
I’m a Registered Behaviour Analyst (R.B.A. (Ont.)), Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a professional background that brings together behaviour analysis, social work, and communication.
I hold an Honours Bachelor of Social Work (HBSW), a Master of Professional Education specializing in Applied Behaviour Analysis, and a Graduate Certificate in the Communicative Disorders Assistant program from St. Lawrence College.
I created The Community Nest because I wanted families to have access to support that looks at the whole person—not simply a diagnosis or behaviour. Communication, behaviour, emotional well-being, relationships, independence, and a person's environment are all connected, and I believe effective support needs to reflect that.
At The Community Nest, we provide individualized services for children, youth, adults, and families. Our services include Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), behavioural assessment and intervention, communication and functional skill development, parent and caregiver training, social and emotional skill development, respite and community programming, and support with daily living, independence, safety, and vocational skills.
Our work is highly individualized. Goals might include helping someone communicate their wants and needs, develop greater independence, navigate social situations, build emotional regulation skills, participate more safely in their community, prepare for employment, or learn everyday skills that improve their quality of life.
Families are also an important part of what we do. I believe parents and caregivers should feel heard, respected, informed, and genuinely involved in the support their loved one receives.
Above all, The Community Nest is a place where individuals are supported for who they are while being given opportunities to learn, grow, communicate, connect, and become more independent.
We aren't here to change who someone is. We're here to help them build the skills and supports they need to live a life that is meaningful to them.
